This is the very special Abat Jour table light from Venini. This has been a highly popular design for the past 13 years, because it is timeless.

It has a hand-blown Murano glass base with elliptical spheres in two colourways, crafted using a traditional Muranese baloton pattern. This is a design which has been passed down from one generation of Venetian master craftsmen to the next. The molten glass is poured into a special mould, which creates the beautiful criss-cross finish.

All the metal parts are chromium-plated.

• lilac with amethyst and wisteria
